Nicolas "Nick" Lee - Sound Technician

Nick started doing sound for a Christian theater company during summer break in high school, developing a love of the production aspect of the performances. He went on to get a degree in music and video business, with the final exam being to put on a concert at the Backstage in Ballard with My Sisters Machine opening for Alice in Chains.

After graduation Nick was hired on as a tech at Lackey Sound & Light in Seattle. Nick quickly moved up the ranks to Operations Manager and while working with his team, provided all the sound for the 1990 Goodwill Games, cooperate events, concert tours and local rentals. Nick has toured with Eddie Rabbitt, BJ Thomas, Juice Newton, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and many more and depending on the tour, worked as either monitor engineer or lighting director, with a several shows as front-of-house engineer.

Nick ultimately gave up the touring lifestyle to settle down and raise a family, facilitating occasional DJ gigs and one off shows. In 2012 he purchased a small sound system and started Gut Level Sound Productions, providing live sound reinforcement for local bar bands, DJ/MC services for weddings and local events. In addition to running sound & light production for Northwest Chill (and loving every minute of it), Nick is on the production crew at the Clearwater Casino and contract with Viation performing sound system installs for various venues.
